Bio
CHOB / Olga Ciob was born in 1982 in Chișinău, Republic of Moldova, and is currently based in Bucharest, Romania. A visual artist, CHOB works primarily in oil on canvas and watercolor on paper, creating emotionally resonant compositions that explore themes of identity, memory, and transformation.
Her work is marked by a refined balance between expressive gesture and structured form, engaging deeply with personal and collective narratives. In May 2025, her works were featured in the group exhibition “Passato e Presente: Dialogo tra Tradizione e Arte Contemporanea” at Museo Luigi Bellini in Florence, where contemporary voices were brought into dialogue with traditional Italian heritage. She also participated in the Random Acts of Kindness group exhibition in Bucharest, reflecting on empathy, vulnerability, and the emotional layers of urban life.
Looking ahead, CHOB will be part of the Romanian Pavilion at the 2025 London Design Biennale, contributing to the group project Urban Mirror, which explores urban identity, memory, and the emotional dimensions of public space.
Her works are held in private collections across Romania, France, the United States, Switzerland, and Italy. With an expanding body of international and collaborative work, CHOB remains a dynamic and engaged presence in the contemporary art scene.
